FilmStamp: film emulation & cinematic look LUTs
Ever wanted to give your project the look and feel of classic 35mm film stocks such as Kodak or Fuji?
Introducing FilmStamp™ - collection of color transformation LUTs for creative filmmakers, cinematographers and pro colorists looking for easy way to give digital footage the color and look of favorite film stocks.
What is a LUT?
LUT stands for "Look Up Table" - a set of numbers that apply a color transform to an image.
Simply put, it is a preset color look for your video footage, but unlike a preset, LUTs are not application specific, meaning they work in a variety of NLEs and color grading programs.
Like film grain overlays, it is one of the ways to create an authentic and beautiful film look by simulating the color of real photochemically processed film stocks. Applying a LUT is accurate way to achieve the character and beauty of 35mm celluloid film.
It doesn't matter if you're shooting with a DSLR, professional camera, or mobile phone - our LUTs will work on your shots flawlessly. FilmStamp is perfect to make digital camera footage look like film!

FilmStamp LUTs are optimized for standard video profile Rec.709
Many cinematographers shoot in LOG color space to preserve the dynamic range and detail in the highlights or the shadows, but footage look flat and washed out. If you shoot in LOG format, you need to normalize it to Rec.709 color space. You can manually add contrast and saturation in your video editor, or use an appropriate conversion LUT.
We provide a bunch of translation LUTs for popular camera profiles. These files are not designed to create a creative look, but instead to make a flat image look more normal to the human eye.
If your camera's profile is not listed, search for conversion LUT on the manufacturer's website. Apply a camera LUT before any other color adjustments.
